Back when I used to work as a PA, I used to always get the “Sunday Scaries”. Not that I didn’t love what I did but I often felt behind or not ready. If I’m being honest, this is still something I struggle with weekly but something I am also trying to get better at. Ive found that more than anything it simply comes down to planning and setting yourself up for success.
Part of my New Year’s goals were to focus on routine and I’m still trying to develop what I want that routine to be.
I have NEVER been good at keeping up with a planner but I still find myself buying one year after year. So here we go with 2021 trying again but so far, so good!
I like this Simplified Planner because it’s cheap but also has everything I need- I like a monthly calendar and a weekly one. What I love about the weekly one is that each day is divided into two sections: a general and a “to-do” list.
Sunday has become my new day to deep-clean the house as much as possible. With Jacob on call, it’s a little more tricky but I try to get whatever I can done.
Monday: Refrigerator Cleanout – Monday is one of our trash days so I can just take everything out. We aren’t the best at always eating leftovers so our fridge just needs a weekly clean out.
Tuesday: Vacuum the house. I plan to run the shark robot daily but this will be a nice way to deep clean periodically!
Thursday: Wipe down the bathroom counter tops and wash bath towels/hand towels- I will be doing this on both Sunday and Thursday but I don’t know how these get so crazy each week! I picked Thursday to try and balance the week.
Friday: Mop the floors. Now that we have the robot vac, this is kind of a game changer. I will run it nightly and then that will make mopping easier. The kids always make the biggest messes at the kitchen table and even with daily wiping I feel like we miss some things so this will be nice going into the weekend to have a clean set of floors! I use this mop and love it!
I’m also starting to meal plan. I used to do this a few months ago but picking the recipes and making a list became way too time consuming. I am trying Forking Fresh and I’m excited to share what I think. Basically it’s a service created by a nutritionist that plans your meals and grocery list weekly. You can tailor it to your dietary needs too which is pretty cool. If you want to try it, you can use my code AMANDA10 to save!
My tips on how to make your week easier basically come down to PLANNING:
- Make lists
- Meal plan, use a crockpot or sheet pan meal when you can!
- Split your chores into small daily tasks so as to not overwhelm yourself
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday Mindset!
